i couldn't stand it. had to get new music last night. mostly calexico is what i was jonesin' for. but also got cat power and devics.
and the black peppercorns. i heard about them on npr. i will look for the CD this weekend. i couldn't remember the name of the band, had to consult the music oracle (douglas) who of course knew who they were. you could say "the band in chicago who wore the blue shirts for the august 1997 show" and he would know. in this case, i said the band with the young girls from portland, with pea or flower or something in the band name and one really likes chihuahuas. and he knew. of course he did.
b. doesn't quite understand the draw, but they are amazing. 9 and 10 years old. and totally NW rock sort of kids. went to rock and roll camp for girls, hung out with the sleater-kinney crowd, etc. you can see some of that influence.
