ugh. Buck is at the vet getting xrays. I'm so hoping it's not surgery to fix things. So far the word is that he probably tore the tendon off the bone of his ankle. I don't know what it will take to fix it, if that's it. Poor guy. He hasn't had a good walk in two weeks. It's probably more than a sprain. I'd like to be mad at someone, I'd like to blame doggy daycare because that's where the hole he ran through was and it shouldn't have been there - but it was small - and Buck is a rocket. So, no one to blame. Myself perhaps.
Think good thoughts for little man B. He won't be going under the knife today even if he needs to. One step at a time. He is my heart dog.

Not fun. My parents' dobie did something like that, and she was tender for a while after surgery. Certainly can't blame yourself, though; it's just life and it happens. I'm sending stately, plump good wishes.
Posted by: michael on February 19, 2004 01:34 PMthank you. it doesn't look like he tore the tendon off the bone, but it could be a myriad of other things, i'll find out once they get the xrays back from the specialist. i saw the xrays and there (at least) isn't anything horrific. no obvious fractures, tendon probably still attached, but there's no doubt but that he ripped the hell out of it. i don't know if it's better or worse that it may just be months of healing and no play. he's SUCH an active dog.
well, except right now, he's still dopey from the sedative.
