well, not quite. certainly more than you need, and likely more than you care about.

i don't know what to say. i realize how goofy this is, and although i always look at other about pages, i have no idea what i'm looking to find, or what people reading this are looking to find.

so, until i am flooded with fascinating questions to answer, this will have to do. i'll ramble a little.

current plan for if I need a death row meal:: Appetizer (specifics of which have slipped my mind) from Avenue One, Grilled asparagus from Axis, Seven Flavored beef and also lamb from Wild Ginger, fresh tomatoes/mozarella/tomatoes from somewhere, and desert, well, hell, it's a last meal, and I can't decide, so I want 3: chocolate cake from Fandango, coconut creme pie from Axis (like nothing in this world) and then something with caramel - I haven't found the perfect caramel - but probably Ben & Jerry's Triple Caramel Chunk or Karamel Sutra (served over baked figs and pears, maybe baked in a creme brulee). OH, damn, I forgot the key lime pie part. That too. Key lime pie. This is getting sick. I'd probably die if I ate all of this - and I didn't even get to beverages yet (fresh squeezed oj, gin & tonic, port...).

I thrive on making stuff. Knitting mostly these days, but just about anything will do in a pinch. I like powertools. I'm a nester, home is extremely important.

I don't think in terms of all-time-favorite anything. There are movies and music and books that I like for different reasons. It depends on the season, my mood, etc. Things I like: film, architecture, lit, photography, travel, music, Alice in Wonderland, Diva, Betty Blue, Magnolia, caramel, gimlet or cosmopolitan, good wine, blue, maybe green, good lighting, when the latest magazines come in the mail, the young omar shariff, olives, olives fed to me by the young omar shariff, torrefazione or illy coffee, coffee in a really comfortable bed on a sunday morning, road trips, the northern lights, cathedral architecture, taking photographs and otherwise playing with the camera collection, wisdom, Stephin Merritt, early music (14th-15th C. choral), lightning storms, writing, being read to, good company, good stories, the right words, lots of time/a long beach/my dog buck, being inspired, love, b. who gives depth to my life i never expected. more recently being a mama, which is so far out of what i could have imagined my life would be in the best possible way.

If you could please arrange it so I never have to deal with the following, I'd be obliged: undercooked meat, karaoke, bad drivers, racism, gun toting republicans, mosquito bites, going to the gas station, people who won't teach their kids (dogs or children) manners, arrogance, lack of integrity.

Engaged, as of June 10th, 2004 - to a lovely man who I adore and who makes me very happy. I'm feeling rather lucky about it all. There's plenty of the backstory in these pages if you want to follow along. Or at least there was until the plague wiped out my archives.

I have a degree I don't use (b.a. with honors, english lit.) I have a tattoo that people rarely see. I generally smell like Issy Miyake perfume (L'eau d'Issy). Other smells that are good: freshly opened oranges, ocean air, the smell just before a storm.

If I could have one wish, I know what it would be. (My stipuation on this rules out a) money b) more wishes and c) world peace) given that, I wish that I could speak/read/write all the languages in the world fluently.

I've got my geek on. doing blog-ish things since 1996. doing web stuff since the day that mosaic hit the streets. whatever. i like the web. I've been doing computer stuff of one sort or another for a long time.
