it's a sort of non-birthday birthday. i bought monkeybaby some real shoes (relatively speaking - i was talked out of the see kai run shoes i was dying for on the tiny person's behalf - and bought some good teva baby sandals for him) which should last through the summer. he's been wearing cheap target sized 3 sandals. come to find out his feet actually measure at 4.5. it's all relative, he's still not quite walking.

i bought myself some wine and grey salt caramels. i worked. but the sun is out, it's a beautiful day, and i actually am pretty much trying to ignore the counter making another click. maybe when i hit another round number i'll jump out of a plane again. that would rock. when i, you know, turn 40 or something.

on a less happy side note, there was a super nice guy, dan, at my glasses place who died a year ago today - hit by a drunk driver in vegas. his birthday would have been yesterday. my heart is with his family. i cannot fathom losing a child.

OH, and thanks jeanne for the push towards klean kanteen. they came yesterday and i'm now somewhat obsessed with drinking water. love them. did a bunch of research and they won. now I need a nice cover.
