3 weeks into the new year, how are your resolutions?

I feel like I'm doing ok. I two resolutions, possibly 3 if you count the standing resolution that I have every year.

1) (the standing resolution) - open the mail.
2) be a good mom.
3) take responsibility for my frustration.

that third one encompasses quite a bit. it boils down to remembering that people can't read my mind. and instead of being all pissy to people when they don't do what i want, or expect, i am trying to communicate when i'm going nuts.

so far so good.

mr man, just now: "honey, did you find your stitch?"
me: huh, what? oh, uh, no, i'm done.
mr man: (as i type this) are you trying to google your stitch?

the payoff

today we went out for saturday errands. one of them was to look at the new goodwill in north seattle. i know some people are a little snippy about thrift stores, but mr man and i have very good luck overall. we've found some beautiful things. some times it's crap. but the hunt for something good is fun.

today, today it was good. a heath bowl (insignificant crack) for fifty cents, two hull small bean pots in pristine condition, $3 each, and best, 2, count them 2, denyse schmidt quilts for $23. score. they are blue strings attached pattern.
