that which should not excite me as much as it does

getting cable again should not excite me nearly as much as it does.

craft corner smackdown!
the food channel!
HGTV!

those are clearly not the channels brian is excited about.

on another note, pat benetar is holding up surprisingly well. the hairdos in tacoma casinos... not so much. no story is complete without at least 5 hours in the ER. hopefully photos to follow.

grace's globes

and the ever gorgeous and fabulous grace did her first triathalon in chelan over the weekend. the mr and i drove out with buck and enjoyed some seriously warm weather and cheered on the gang. actually it was grace, mardi, henry, deedee, and erica who did the race. i'm so proud of grace. it was very emotional, and she did really well. especially since she was worried about even finishing. uberfab. and her parents happened to be in the right part of the country, so they were there too. haven't seen them in a long time. her mom and i can talk about things that happened to grace 20 years ago. it's weird. i've known her a long time.

personally - i don't know. there's always something isn't there? as is my pattern, i haven't pursued the birthmom thing. there's other drama to be dealt with. and working inconsistently is good and bad. i think of a thousand projects, i should be doing art (long story, but i'm having a hard time doing creative stuff and i'm not happy about the reasons), i should be painting the den. it's the last big indoor project. ok, maybe not. we have to get a new subfloor in the bathroom really soon. then paint the trim outside, etc. but i always say i'm going to deal with painting the office on my next mini-sabbatical. so that is what i should be doing. the reality is that today i'll probably deal with the medical billing morons, take the dog to the park, and knit. maybe i'll do prep work for ripping out carpet and painting. i suspect that will involve thinking about it.

waitin for my train to come

working too much. and then not at all. probably not really enough to live on, given the bill total i just paid. did manage to see the rollerderby awhile back, and left hand smoke (seattle band, but you should have heard of them) played the 4th of july party and that was awesome. 13.5 miles on a bike is a good ride if you haven't been more than around the block on a bike in, oh, about 15 years.

i don't know what else to put here right now. i haven't been in a blog mindframe. maybe soon.
