hellooooooo anyone home?
i'm taking it as a personal good sign that i'm able to step away from the blog a bit. it's not that there are a million things going on, but there's enough. there are still blog entry moments every day. the other day b. and i were driving, talking about various knitting projects i have going and because a) sometimes he mixes up words the way that i read signs wrong all the time and b) he reads not martha he said "castinets are going to be very popular this year". i looked at him in that way, and he knew what was coming... "honey, castinets are the mexican clacky things, i think you meant capelets unless megan has a secret line on something".
and grace's birthday was election day, and we worked on cleaning the basement, and we took a long walk at discovery park, and life goes on. i continue to understand what i need to do (become grand mistress flash on my own time) vs what i'd like to do (read, knit, sleep, walk the dog).
it's the same stuff. even with freelance projects and work, not going to an office everyday eventually puts you in a different head space. not to mention income bracket. it's time to step it all up - and it has been. right after i finish b.'s hat.
oh, ok. knitting update: unraveled b.'s hat with the intent of re-knitting with the same yarn only so it would actually fit. i decided that i didn't like that yarn (it was my first project after not knitting for many years). so, it just stayed unravled. there are only pics for posterity now. finished his scarf, finished my scarf, made a felted purse, and i have about 10 minutes left on the replacement hat. after that a hat for me, and the socks that are half done. and needles for shelley. and grace's bday present (not knitting). etc etc.
see, i'm still out here.
