when plastic dogs dream do they do that twitch thing?

when i do the dishes at night, i make sure he is standing up and guarding the kitchen. when i get up in the morning he invariably has fallen asleep.
today i'm letting him sleep more so that he will stand watch later.
and, it is time to return to the work world. i'd love to continue the life of leisure and make art and walk the dog, however for the moment that's not listed as an option. but it feels good to have had the break, to be in a new head-space, all of that.
but if you've chosen to take a sabbatical from the tech world (of one sort or another) perhaps you also noticed the appeal of becoming a farmer or doing other more visceral work. me, i'd like a big studio loft and a darkroom, and a section for working on lighting design.
perhaps in time.
